About the Practice
Painting as the slow practice of looking.
Doris Hysa was born in Gur i Bardhë, a quiet village in the highlands of Albania. His practice draws directly from that landscape — the weight of the mountains, the depth of the greenery, the clarity of the fresh mountain air — translated into atmospheric paintings built through dozens of translucent glazes.
Each canvas rewards patient attention and shifts as light moves across the room. His works are held in private collections across Europe.
